Kodaks decision to end production of Kodachrome film is a shame but is hardly surprising. Kodak made a statement that kodachrome makes for a fraction of a percent of it's sales. If we as photographers had taken the time to appreciate and purchase this film then maybe Kodak would have kept it running. Be honest, when is the last time you used this film?.
It is one of the most difficult films to process and expensive to produce, it makes perfect business sense for Kodak to end production as advancements in technology in both film and digital have rendered Kodachrome redundant.
I think that kodachrome is going to be one of those films that we are not going to miss until it is gone.
